Eric Berninghausen is a theater artist, scenic designer and props maker. For ten years, Eric developed a wide range of skills (welding, ceramics, woodworking,) as a freelance theatre artist in NYC, building props, painting sets and designing shows. He has worked on and off Broadway for theatre companies such as Manhattan Theatre Club, Playwrights Horizons, Dixon Place and The Public Theatre. He received his BS from Skidmore College in theater and his MFA from Boston University in scenic design where he studied under Diane Fargo and  Allen Moyer.  Favorite design credits include:  Suddenly, Talley's Folly, Two Trains Running,  The Importance of Being Earnest, Uncle Vanya, A Chorus Line, The Lieutenant of Inishmore, and the world premieres of Sibyl Kempson’s Potatoes of August and The Secret Death of Puppets. He is a Professor of Theater Arts and resident designer at Gettysburg College where he teaches courses in scenic design, technical production. and introduction to theatre.
